Annie Leibovitz

I know some feel that her work has been overshown, overexposed and overhyped.
But I love it all.

Store Plan and Color Stories

This is another assignment of mine, to re-do a floor plan of a store, and to create  or more color stories for that store, along with a window display. This is what I came up with:

A Shop for Women

Tonic boutique has two locations, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is a very trendy boutique, carrying everything from accessories and denim, to party dresses and shoes. They also carry casual dresses as well as party dresses, outerwear, sweaters, tshirt, blouses, tunics, skirts and shorts. The demographic for Tonic is women ages 18-25 years of age. The price ranges depend on the brand you are buying. They carry brands names such as BB Dakota, Vera Moda, Only, Buttons, Kling, Dex, Industry, Lipsy, French Connection, Stop Staring, Dainty June, Tulle, Traffic People, and many more.

Store Plan Explanation

- Change rooms have been moved from one location on the left wall to two separate locations to make access easier for customers and management of change rooms easier for store associates
- Cash desk had been moved from middle of the store to the back center of the store. This is to prevent lineups of customers at the cash desk crowding the middle of the store. It is also easier for sales associates to manage loss prevention; they have a full view of the store when at the desk
- Tables have been changed from round tables placed sporadically around the store to two larger tables in the center of the store to balance the layout
- Sale merchandise was previously not grouped together, and mixed in with regular priced merchandise. There is a small amount of sale merchandise, and it is now grouped together on a roll bar near the cash desk for add on purchases, and to help the “sale shopper” find more options
-The denim collection was previously not grouped together, but rather spread out through the store according to brand name. It is now all grouped together to make shopping easier for the customer.
-Tonic boutique previously had no color stories. Their layout was based solely on brand name. This has now been changed to color stories to give a better presentation of the clothing, therefore giving the entire store a more unified, organized look. This also helps to present the current season more accurately, by being able to group colors together.
